Pastor Mike Osthimer was born and raised in Bakersfield and came to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord through the ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes while attending San Diego State University in 1981. Upon returning to Bakersfield Mike began attending Calvary Chapel Bakersfield in 1982 and served in the youth ministry as a volunteer and where he met his wife Lee. They were married July 9, 1983 and have three wonderful grown children, Bree, Brett and Brandon.

Mike joined the staff of Calvary Chapel full time in 1994 and has served as the churches Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor and in 2001 Mike was appointed Senior Pastor. Besides having a love for the Word of God and teaching its timeless truths Mike has a heart for the lost and each week seeks to advance the kingdom of God by inviting those in attendance to come to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and to grow in their devotion to the Lord in every area of their lives.

In his free time Mike enjoys cycling and time with family and friends. His other passion is writing and he enjoys writing a daily devotional titled, "Real Life With Pastor Mike" and it is sent out to hundreds weekly.
