In the late 1980s, we changed our name from Calvary
Chapel Bakersfield to Westbrook Chapel, we have since
changed our name to Calvary Chapel Westbrook in coming
back into affiliation with the Calvary Chapel Fellowships.
We have continued to minister with much effectiveness
in our city taking that same simple message of God's
love and grace to a lost world. As one of the three
Calvary Chapel's in our community it is our hearts'
desire is to see our city of Bakersfield won for Jesus
Christ by holding fast to the Calvary Chapel style of
ministry which is teaching the word of God line on line
and book by book through the entire Bible and faithfully
reaching out to the lost with the love of God.
Pastor Mike Osthimer and his wife, Lee, met and served
together in the youth ministry back in the early days
of Calvary Chapel Bakersfield serving as volunteers
leading the high school ministry for 7 years. Mike
was invited to join the staff full time at Westbrook
in 1994 serving as Associate Pastor. In 2001, Mike
became only the third Senior Pastor in the over 20
years of ministry that the church has enjoyed in Bakersfield.
With a heart for the Word of God and reaching the
lost Pastor Mike and Lee are enjoying watching the
Lord honor the call upon their lives by blessing Calvary
Chapel Westbrook l with a growing body of new believers
as well as many mature saints who are filled with
His Spirit and who have a hunger and thirst for God's
Word and a love for one another and the lost.
